Dot was born on August 30th, 1933 in Morristown, New Jersey to James and Marjorie McNatt. She graduated from Morristown High School and Katherine Gibbs School. Dot began working for Bell Telephone Laboratories as a secretary where she met her husband James. They were married on May 5th, 1956.
The couple eventually settled in Roxbury Township for over 35 years where Dot was a homemaker, Cub Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout Troop Leader, a member of the Boy Scout Troop 54 mother's club, scorekeeper for the community's recreational swim team and Girl Scout Community Director. When both children were in school, Dot began working for the Roxbury School System. She retired in 1995.
Dot & Jim moved to Ocala, FL in 1998.
Dot enjoyed reading, games, puzzles, bowling and golf. She had 3 hole-in ones.
The Stapp family would like to thank their Ocala Palms friends for their support, the staff of West Marion Community Hospital and Palm Garden for their care, and the people at The Legacy House who comforted the family at the end.
An open house in celebration of Dot's life is scheduled for 2-4pm, Tuesday, August 25th, at Ocala Palms Country Club. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Marion County Hospice at 9505 SW 110st, Ocala, FL 34478.
