J. Harold Davis, 69, of 824 Willis St. Batesburg, died Tuesday. Born in Lexington County, he was a son of the late Grover Cleveland and Prarl Franklin Davis, He was the co-owner of Davis Pond and Davis Frams he served as past president of the Lexington County Farm Bureau and was a member of the board of directors of the South Carolina Farm Bureau, He was a member of the Assessment Appeals Board, a former member of Clemson University Fertilizer Advisory Board and served as past chairman of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service Committee. He was a Word War II Army veteran and a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Frances Amick Davis; a daughter, Mrs. David (Dianne) Mathias of Gilbert; sons, J. Wyman, Dwight E., Jeffrey L., and Harold S. "Hal"; sisters Mrs. Ruby Lynn Risinger and Mrs. Marion Taylor, all of Batesburg; and brothers, Leonard O. and H. Thel Davis, both of Batesburg. Services will be held at 4PM today at Faith Lutheran Church, with burial in Ridge Crest Memorial Park. Barr-Price Funeral Home of Leesville is in charge.
