2015 obituary. FARMINGTON – Herman H. Ellis, 85, of Stratton, died in the early morning hours of Monday, May 18, 2015 at Franklin Memorial Hospital, Farmington. He was born March 31, 1930 in Eustis, a son of Florin and Rachel (Hatch) Ellis. He received his education in local schools and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. He married Kathleen Targett on March 2, 1952, and celebrated 55 years of marriage while proudly raising a family of 8 children. She passed on March 25, 2007. He worked in the woods on lumbering operations all of his life, mostly as a lumberjack but also a heavy equipment operator. He was a true woodsman in every respect, his hobbies almost exclusively being hunting and fishing, and most specifically loved Deer hunting. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Copp, and sister, Jean Cummings.
