Roger served as a Staff Sergeant on a B-24, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Chittenden County, Vermont prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on February 25, 1943 in Rutland, Vermont. He was noted at the time of his enlistment as being employed as a Stock Clerk and also as Single, without dependents.

Roger was "Killed In Action" in Germany during the war and was awarded a Purple Heart. He may also have been awarded the Air Medal.
