George R. Hoover, 77, a 29-year resident of Sierra Vista, Ariz., passed away on Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, in Tucson, Ariz.
George was born on Oct. 26, 1927, in Downs, Ill., to Asa and Nellie Hoover. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
George took his family to many choice places throughout the country and Europe while serving his country in the U.S. Air Force and civil service for 37 years.
He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed horse racing and gambling.
"Our Sweet Daddy" will be truly missed by all of us.
George was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffrey; and two brothers and four sisters.
George is survived by his beloved wife, Esther; children, Leslie and Keith Hitchins, George R. Hoover II, Lisa and Gary Kyte; brother, Harold; sister, Ferne; sister-in-law, Jackie of Illinois; grandchildren, Amy, Bryan, Clint, Krystal, Matthew and Pamela; great-grandchild, Emily; and many loving nieces and nephews.
George's wishes were to be cremated. To honor his wishes, private family services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in George's memory to the American Diabetes Association, 40 N. Swan, Suite 116, Tucson AZ 85711.
