Ms. Simpson was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Sr. and Elizabeth (Meyer) Brown; and her brothers, Howard Jr., Raymond and Charles Brown; and her husband, Robert N. Simpson.
Ms. Simpson graduated from beauty school in 1935 and was a beautician for 65-plus years. The majority of her career was spent at salons located in Stewart's Dry Good. She also worked for Mr. Don's and Dawn's in St. Matthews. She retired in 2004. She was a lifelong member of Salem United Church of Christ.
Aunt Lil loved children, horses, dogs, black licorice and all of us.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Rusty and Merty Brown, Charlie and Elise Brown, Chris and Eleanor Brown, Marty and Marian Brown, Penny Brown, Judy and Larry Fields, Ginger and David Munden, Jerry and Barb Steele, Bobby and Jan Steele and Doug and Deloy Simpson. She is also survived by a host of great-nieces and great-great nieces; and great-great nephews. She was much loved and will be dearly missed.
Cremation was chosen and a committal service for family and friends will be held at Evergreen Cemetery on Wednesday, May 5th at 2 p.m.
A celebration of her life will be held later this summer. Highlands Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Norton Audubon Hospital for the excellent care Ms. Simpson received during her time there. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions in Ms. Simpson's memory may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society or her church.
