Don proudly served his country in the U. S. Army with a tour in Vietnam. He worked as a carpenter until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and church family. Don had a special love for music. God had blessed him to be an extraordinary guitarist. Some of his favorite time was spent playing with his musician friends at various nursing homes. Rarely would you see him without a guitar in his hand and picks in his pocket.

Honorary pallbearers were all the musicians who have played with Don through the years.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center for their exceptional care and kindness to the family.
