MICHELLE LYNN ROGERS "MICKEY"

Mickey Rogers of Shingletown, CA was called to the Lord suddenly and unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, October 21, 2009.

Mickey was born on January 9th, 1959 in Kalamazoo, MI. She graduated from Claremont High School, Claremont, CA in 1978, and received her AA Degree from Citrus College, Azuza, CA 1979. All who were fortunate to share Mickey's company were blessed by her uniquely vivacious personality and independent spirit. Her love of animals and nature carried her through life and brought her to the mountains of Northern California where she built her dream home and etched her niche in the community. The love of her community was echoed by her call in life as a police officer, a caregiver and her involvement with the American Red Cross. Mickey lived life with a pioneering spirit and on her own terms. She was an entrepreneur and business owner. An athletic and strong woman she thrived at all she set out to do. As a professional and expert truck driver she enjoyed her work hauling logs and wood chips down the mountainside. During the football seasons of 1994-96 Mickey performed riding her horse "Pacman", as a mascot for the Western Michigan University, Broncos. An avid outdoors person she thrilled at swimming and snow skiing. In addition, she was involved in several clubs and organizations, including Model "A" Ford Club, and local trail riding groups. Other great joys of Mickey's were horseback riding, family gatherings and spending time with her many beloved pets.

Mickey is loved and missed dearly by her parents, E.D. and Marian Rogers, and her brothers, Steven, Patrick and Brian Rogers.

Young at heart she loved and always spent time with her nieces and nephews Jeffrey, Jacinda, Kelly, Dale, Kevin and Heather.

The funeral service was held on October 24, 2009 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Shingletown, CA. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 1:00PM at St. Peter & St. Paul Catholic Church in Alta Loma, CA.
