The son of John and Mildred Pruner Krey, Ralph Earl was born May 4, 1922, at Zenith, Stafford County, Kansas. Ralph graduated from Stafford High School in 1940 and later attended Kansas State University. He served as a bomber pilot in U.S. Navy during World War II, then married Virginia Love on Nov. 17, 1946 in Stafford. He was a farmer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Southwind Country Club, American Legion, Elks Lodge, AARP and Veterans of Foreign Wars, all in Garden City. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Pastor Robert Cousins officiated at his funeral at the first United Methodist Church. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery with military rites presented by the Garden City Area Veterans Honor Guard. Survivors included his wife, one son, one daughter, one brother, four sisters and six grandchildren.
