Joe Dennie Mills, 82, of Brazil, passed away Aug. 20, 2015, at his residence, with his family by his side.
Joe was born Jan. 6, 1933, in Van Buren County, Tennessee, the son of the late William Joe Dennie and Lena (Keyt) Mills. He graduated from Spencer High School in Tennessee. Joe married the love of his life, Beverly Jane Medaugh, Dec. 7, 1951. He worked at Columbia House in the print shop for 30 years until he retired in 1995. In the past, he also worked at Nance's Creamery and Arketex.
Joe was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brazil and was a past member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, squirrel hunting, being outdoors and going on family vacations. Joe was a self-taught musician. He was the lead singer and lead guitar player of the Eel River Rockabillies, among other bands, for over 20 years. He was known for his wonderful country voice. Joe never found an instrument that he couldn't master in a short period of time.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Joe is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Beverly Mills.
