Lewis "Joe" Fisher, Sr., 79, of 355 Silver Dollar Rd., the Merrimon Community, Beaufort, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
He was previously employed as a longshoreman fisherman and with the North Carolina State Ports Authority.
Lewis will be forever cherished by: sons, Lewis Fisher Jr. of Suffolk, Virginia, MSG Arthur Fisher of Lancaster, California, Joseph Fisher of Beaufort, Levar Fisher of Forest Parks, Illinois; daughters, Betty Williams of Beaufort, Frankie Pierce of Havelock and Licia Fisher of Raleigh; twenty-nine Grandchildren; twenty-five Great-Grandchildren; two brothers; one sister.
The family will receive their friends and guests at the residence.
Viewing will be held at the Church on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
Homegoing Service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Reels Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, 296 Silver Dollar Rd., the Merrimon Community, Beaufort, with the Revs. Christina Grady and Lewis Fisher, Jr., Officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the Church Cemetery with Rev. Christina Grady, Pastor, Officiating and the Rev. Lewis Fisher, Jr., Eulogist.
