David Kennedy
Avoca Jul 25 - At the family home here occurred the death of David Kennedy, at the age of 87 years following an illness of only a few days, although he had been in failing health for some weeks.
Mr. Kennedy was born in Scotland and came to this country when only 12 years of age.
In early life he was united in marriage with Sarah Barker, who passed away in 1893. To this union was born one son, John W. Kennedy, who survives.
Leaving Italy, Yates, NY, where he had resided during the past few years for Avoca where he married Lucy McConnell who survives him.
He was a veteran of the Civil War and a man who made friends wherever he went, was a valued member of the Avoca Baptist Church.
The funeral was held at Italy this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Rockefeller of the Avoca Baptist Church officiated.
