James Keith and wife unknown at the time, was the son of Nichodemus Keith and Margaret Borden. He was born between 1791-1795 and died before the 1840 census in Panola County, Mississippi. His son John H. is buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Panola County, Mississippi along with John's wife Christian. He may also have had a son William S. Keith and Miller D. Keith (who may have been Capt. Miller Decatur Keith of the Confederate troops 28th Regiment, Company F, who died at Atlanta in 1864 during the Civil War).
