The remains of Lt. Col. Howard Keith Williams, a Wintersville, Ohio, native who died when his Air Force fighter crashed on a mission over North Vietnam in 1968, will be buried this morning in Arlington National Cemetery. . Williams, 31, was flying an F-100 on a forward air control mission when his plane was shot down by enemy fire March 18, 1968. His co-pilot ejected and was rescued.
Williams' remains were recovered in a joint excavation effort Jan. 28-29, 1991, and turned over to the United States on March 6, 1991. 416TH TAC FTR SQDN, 31ST TAC FTR WING, 7TH AF HOWARD K WILLIAMS is on the Wall at Panel 45E, Line 32
