Darsey, Emma Keyes, passed away December 31, 2003. Born October 22, 1905 in Curryville, GA. The first wife of Florida Congressman Robert L.F. Sikes. Widow of John Ackbar Darsey. Graduate of University of Georgia. An active member of the First United Methodist Church of Commerce, Athens, and Thomson, GA. For several years, Mrs. Darsey taught at the Elsa Williams School of Needle Art in West Townsend, MA. Her interest in needlework led to the organization of the Georgia Chapter of the Embroiders Guild of America and her election as its first president. Survivors are a son, Robert K. Sikes, Oviedo, FL; a daughter, Bobbie Sikes Wicke, Mary Ester, FL; seven grandchildren, 11 Great-grandchildren, two Great-great-grandchildren. Gravesite series will be 10 AM, January 7 at the Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA. The family request that flowers be omitted.
