Mrs. Geraldine Verner Westbrook, age 85, of Toccoa, widow of DeLynn Westbrook, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Pruitt Health of Toccoa. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by the Acree-Davis Funeral Home.

Mrs. Geraldine Verner Westbrook, age 85, of Toccoa, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Pruitt Health of Toccoa. A daughter of the late Griff and Jessie Taylor Verner, she was born May 3, 1930 in Franklin County and lived most of her life in Stephens County. She retired from Coats and Clark after 44 years of service and was a member of The Pointe Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, DeLynn Westbrook in 1998; seven sisters, Willie Westbrook, Myrtle Martin, Bonnie Smith, Evelyn Thomas, Mildred Brown, Fannie Alexander, and Helen Turpin; and a brother, Dennis Verner. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Billy Shirley of Toccoa; a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Sherry Westbrook of Toccoa; six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters and a brother-in-law, Nell Stowe of Toccoa, Betty and Junior Turpin of Eastanollee, and Brenda Thomason of Grandview, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 25th, at 2:00 PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Dennis Rafala and the Reverend Roger Whiten officiating. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Keith Shirley, Nathan Whitworth, Bryon Whitworth, Ronnie Turpin, Steve Cheek, and Brandon Moore. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Monday from 2 until 4 PM and 6 until 8 PM. Interment will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Geraldine Westbrook.
