A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired in 2011 for over 40 years of service as Office Administrator with Buncombe County Enterprises/Jack Morgan. She was a member of: Grace Baptist Church, Ladies Auxiliary of the Tennessee Walking Horse Association, VFW Post #891 Ladies Auxiliary and was a 1964 graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School.
Mrs. Henderson was the daughter of the late Joseph Roosevelt McGhee, Sr. and Mary Della Cordelia Mae White McGhee.
Surviving are her husband whom she married in September of 1995, Anthony Scott “Tony” Henderson of the home; daughters, Shannon Lynne’ of Fletcher and Amanda Ryan of Asheville; stepson, Anthony Scott Henderson, Jr. of Swannanoa; grandchildren, Mckenzie Lynne’ and Joseph Cameron and brother, Joseph R. McGhee, Jr. of Asheville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, August 24, 2015 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Butch Stillwell, Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Monday at the funeral home.
