Claude H. Blackwood, 82 of Memphis, formerly of Dyersburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 18, 2015.

Mr. Blackwood, a retired farmer, was born in Johnson County, Arkansas on September 4, 1932.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Miller Blackwood of Memphis; two daughters, Claudette Fowlkes (Zack) of Memphis, and Cindy Marable of Dickson, TN; and a son, Kent Blackwood of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Don Blackwood (Judy) of Halls, TN and Lindell Blackwood (Candy) of Ripley, TN; 8 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.

In addition to his parents, Lee and Mellie Blackwood, he is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

There will be a memorial held for Mr. Blackwood on Saturday, August 22 at 11:00 am at Grace Community Church, 1880 Fite Road, Memphis, TN 38127.

In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to the Memphis Union Mission or the Mid-south Food Bank.
