Bianic, Roger
September 9, 1950 ~ August 1, 2015

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Roger Bianic. He is survived by his mother, brother and sister. He was predeceased by his father Gabriel and brother Roland. Roger loved to visit. From long time friends to strangers, any one who crossed his path, he was never too busy to stop and chat. He took extreme pride in all that he did from his first job working in a steel foundry in New Westminster to becoming a janitor for a school in Surrey, BC. He later moved to Williams Lake and had his own pilot car business, which included setting up mobile homes. It was in Williams Lake that he discovered the love of working with wood. He drafted plans and built himself a beautiful home. He did it all from foundation, plumbing to the fine cupboard detailing. Roger had a warm heart, and was very compassionate and giving. He believed in helping others.

In 1988 he moved back to Alberta to be closer to family and help his brother Paul who was recovering from a broken neck. Roger was not a 9-5 person. He was a self-starter and always worked until the job was done. It wasn’t unusual to see him on a rooftop finishing up a shingling job, well past dusk, or he’d be working late into the night, sanding and doing fine detail. He was also very inventive and creative. He renovated, fixed and repaired. That was his life, down to the tiniest detail. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t figure out how to do. We were extremely saddened when we discovered the sudden and drastic change in Roger when he took sick. We will miss his smile and surprise visits. We sincerely thank all of you who have shown concern and support through the last few months.

A Memorial Service will be held at Westlock Funeral Home on Saturday, August 29th at 2 P.M. A luncheon will follow at the Legion. For those who desire, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in c/o Westlock Funeral Home & Crematorium at 10004-105 street. Westlock, AB. T7P 1V2 (780) 349-3474
