Michael Lane Ware, 61, of Carbon Hill, Alabama, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Monday, August 24, 2015, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 1:45 on Monday at The Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald.

Mr. Ware was born October 8, 1953, in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late William Lane & Dorothy Mobley Ware. He was a proud graduate of Warner Robins High School. Mr. Ware served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his tour of duty, he was stationed in Germany. He formerly worked for the Southern Bell telephone company. An avid student of history, Mr. Ware loved to research war history and enjoyed learning about the battles our country has fought in. He also loved to fish and hunt, and loved the Georgia Bulldogs.

He is survived by his children: Michael Brian Ware of Townley, AL, Jeremy Chad Ware of Jasper, AL, Amber Dawn Ware Hutton and her husband Brandon of Aurora, CO, and Crystal Michelle Ware of Carbon Hill, AL; his grandchildren: Lane Frost, Brett Hutton, Jeremiah Hutton, and Macie Dawn Clark; and his best friend of 59 years, Tom Petty of Germany.
