Lloyd E. Garoutte, 73, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, on the John Bugg Ranch west of Tucumcari.
Mr. Garoutte was born Feb. 18, 1933 in Oklahoma City to Amos and Adeline Jolly Garoutte. He moved to Tucumcari in 1980.
Mr. Garoutte served in the Navy and became a truck driver following his discharge in 1995.
After his retirement, he joined his son-in-law, John Bugg in the daily operations of a ranch, tending to the cattle and handling other tasks.
He had been a very active member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Tucumcari.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Garoutte, in 2005; a brother, James Garoutte and a sister, Dorris Taylor.
Mr. Garoutte is survived by a son Stephen E. (wife LaQuita) Garoutte of Stuarts Draft, Va.; a daughter, Donna Garoutte (John) Bugg John of Tucumcari; two grandsons, Tyrel C. Garoutte and Lucas H. Bugg, both of Tucumcari; four sisters-in-law, Lena Garoutte of Oklahoma, Lorene Bost of California, Marcia Corka of Oklahoma and Virginia Croka of Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pastor Fred Caton will officiate services. Burial will follow in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lucus "Luke" Bugg, Tyrel "Ty" Garroutte, Randy Livingston, Ryan Livingston, Vernon Garoutte, John Crase, Fred White and Larry Pruitt will serve as pallbearers. Paul Davidson, Chris Sandoval and J. R. Sons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
