Joe A. Stevens, age 78, of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, husband of Joy Burgin Stevens, died Thursday, August 20, 2015, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born June 15, 1937, he was the son of the late Roger H. and Nell Cheak Stevens. He was the retired owner of Joe A. Stevens Trucking Company, a buyer for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for several years and an elder of Harrodsburg Christian Church.

Other survivors include: five children, Lisa (Geno) Swick, of La Vergne, Tennessee, Ann-Margret (Kevin) Perkins, of Harrodsburg, Cathy (Jonny) Schooler, of Frisco, Texas, Chris (Lisa) Bentley, of Louisville, and Sandy (Paul) Bohman, of Perryville; a brother, Jim Stevens, of Perryville; a sister, Shirley Greenburg, of Harrodsburg; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, at Harrodsburg Christian Church, officiated by Mego Haralu. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers are Gary Houchins, Bob Coffman, Don Billy Yates, Tebbs Moore, John Phillips, Mike Matherly, Larry Royalty, Tommy Ison, Will Dedman, Bobby Reister, Don Notter and James Sanders. Honorary bearers are elders of Harrodsburg Christian Church. Memorials are suggested to the Harrodsburg Christian Kitchen Fund or Youth Ministry.
