BATESBURG -- Cleverta Davis, 91, died Saturday, September 8, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, September 10, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Ridge Crest Memorial Park with Rev. Philip McNeal officiating. Pallbearers will be Al Risinger, Wyman Davis, Dwight Davis, Jeff Davis, Hal Davis, John Taylor, Todd Davis, Eric Hartley, David Mathias, David Strother and Donnie Craps. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Davis, Phyllis Hartley, Mitzi Craps, Amy Davis, Diane Mathias and all great-great- greatnieces and nephews.
She was born in Batesburg, daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Davis and Pearl Franklin Davis. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Batesburg. She was a loving and gracious daughter, sister, sister- in-law and aunt. Raised in the Bethlehem Community of Batesburg, she worked with Fair Drug Co. and Garber's Inc., both of Batesburg. She was loved by all who knew her.
Surviving are her sister, Marian Davis Taylor; brother and sister-inlaw, Harvey Thel Davis and wife, Judy; sisters-in-law, Rubie Davis and Francis Davis; 12 nieces and nephews; 21 great-nieces and nephews; 5 great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, James Harold Davis; Leonard Otto Davis; sister, Ruby Lynn Risinger; and a nephew, Rodney Leonard Davis.
