Landy William Burriss, 59, husband of Marier Wiles Burriss, Taney Apartments, died Thursday at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born in Montgomery County the son of William and Annie Johnson Burriss, he was a former employee of the Frederick Iron and Steel Company.
He is survived by his wife, two sons William Burriss and Joseph Burriss, Elliott City; seven daughters, Mrs. Edward Christian and Mrs, Maynard Delauter, Ellicott City, Mrs. Evelyn Harper, Laurel; and Peggy, Doris, Linda, Kathy Burriss, at home; two brothers Harry H. Burriss and James Oliver Burriss, Frederick; one sister Mrs. Lawrence Bolton, Glen Echo, fourteen grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the funeral home 106 E. Church St. after 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
