Robert 'Bob' Dale Ketchum, age 80 of Windsor, Missouri passed into the arms of Jesus Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Jefferson Gardens, Clinton, Missouri. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, Missouri. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. also at the Chapel. Interment will be in Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, Missouri. Bob was born and raised in Calhoun, Missouri and graduated from Calhoun High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed for a time in Frankfort, Germany. After his stint in the service, he returned home and soon found work in the coal industry and remained in this field until his retirement. In his “spare” time he farmed and raised cattle. In May 1966 he married the love of his life, Beverly Howell. Bob got a bonus on this deal in the form of two children, Cassie and Kim who he later legally adopted. Bob also played a vital role in the lives of several cousins and nieces and nephews and their families. If there was another love in Bob’s life it was his horses and ponies. Bob was involved in pulling competitions and reveled in showing off his teams. He traveled all over for “pulls” often sleeping in the bed of his truck. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Arch and Fannie Ketchum, and his brother, William “Bill” Ketchum. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; son and daughter-in-law, Kim and Kimberly Ketchum of Houston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Cassie and Henry Parsons of Collinsville, Oklahoma, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, cousins; Judy Veuleman, Carol Jean Ketchum, and Nancy Ketchum, niece, Carrie Maune and family and nephew, Corey Ketchum and family. Sweet rest, the battle is over and the pain is no more. Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri
