Charli Neal, 46, of College Station, went to be with her Lord on August 12, 2015. The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M. on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 P.M. on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 507 East 26th St., Bryan, Texas 77803 with Monsignor John McCaffrey officiating. She was born in Alice, Texas on May 1, 1969 to Rev. Charles B. Neal and Nelda Moon Neal. She graduated from Malakoff High School in Malakoff, Texas in 1987. She received a B.A. in Fine Arts from Texas A&M University, Kingsville, Texas. She was a very gifted artist, with interests in the field of Surrealism. She was skilled as a painter, designer and sculptor, and also worked in jewelry and stained glass. Following her graduation from TAMU, she worked with CCCreations, having had her Tee Shirt design selected for a Bush family cruise after President Bush retired from office. She also worked for TAMU in the Office of Admissions. Charli was an avid swimmer and supplemented her college education by working as a Life Guard, as well as a dispatcher for the King Ranch. She loved horseback riding, tennis, running, rock climbing, camping and tubing on the Frio River. She loved music, flowers (especially purple iris) and her sweet kitty, Mermala Du Pre. Although she had no children of her own, she adored her nieces and nephews and until her health began to fail, she enjoyed watching them dance, play sports and other activities. She was a member of the Church of Christ and loved her Lord and Savior very much. She is preceded in death by her father, Rev. Charles B. Neal, grandparents, Dave and Evie Moon, C. B. and Flora Neal, and a nephew, Parker Ryan Buckbee. She leaves behind her loving parents, Nathaniel (Wes) Thompson and Nelda Thompson of Bryan, sisters Tammy Jimenez (Xavier), of Houston, Nancy Neal of Brooklyn, NY and Shannon Buckbee (Chris), of Bryan; nieces, Kyra Sarles (Tristan) of Corpus Christi, Madeline and Karrington Buckbee of Bryan; Nephews, Zachary, Cameron and Isaac Jimenez of Houston, Alejandro (Alex) Jimenez (Danielle), USN of Norfolk, VA, Christian Neal and Dustin Buckbee of College Station, Texas, a great nephew, Tayvin Sarles, and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family would like to thank her doctors, therapists, caregivers and others who showed her great kindness.
