Jimmy Edward “Jim” Cox, age 73 of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at his residence.

He was born August 6, 1942 in Brodhead, KY. He was a former Vice-President of Brandeis Machinery and Supply in Louisville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ard and Marguerite Lawrence Cox; two infant children, Mary Lucille and Catherine Annette Cox; one brother, Byron Cox.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 50 years, Lucy Mattingly Cox; one brother, Donald Cox (Mary) of Shepherdsville; one sister-in-law, Joyce Cox of Greenwood, Arkansas; one niece, Donna Marie Beld; one nephew, Larry Cox.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Monday, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Saint Francis, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Peter Chaou and Emil Kander will concelebrate. Deacon Dominick Azarra will assist.

Visitation is 3-8 Saturday with a rosary at 7 PM at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Visitation is also 3-8 Sunday with a Celebration of Life Service at 6 PM.
