Tragedy Strikes Bacon Family For Second Time
-----------------------------------------------
Tragedy hit the Bacon family and their relatives for the second time in a week when H A Bacon died suddenly at his home Sunday afternoon as a result of a heart attack. Although he had suffered from heart ailments for the past two years, it is believed that this heart attack was caused primarily by the grief of the sudden death of his father on the previous Sunday.
Henry A (Bill) Bacon was born September 5, 1909, at Grand Forks ND. He moved to Terry with his parents in November, 1910. where they homestead 25 miles south of Terry. On June 3, 1933 he was united in marriage to Edith Cole and to this marriage was born a son, Billy Vere, and a daughter, Mona Lee. They lived in Terry for five years, then moved to Fairfield, and returned to Terry in 1941. He purchased a drayline in Terry and operated it until 1945 when he sold his interests and has been a building contractor since that time.
In addition to his wife and two children, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs Thelma Cloud of Miles City, Mrs Ella Souhrada, and Mrs Opal DeVine of Terry; three brothers, Bud Bacon of Portland OR, Melvin Bacon of Richland WA, and Roy Bacon of Terry. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs Mel Warner of Miles City.
Funeral services will be held in the Terry Community Church on Thursday afternoon with John B Fritz of Miles City officiating. Interment will be in the Terry cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lester Jens, Raymond Hendrickson, Bob Gamber, Roy Marks, G G Kalfell Jr and Jack Hurley.
