Mr. Harvey was born Dec. 26, 1952, in St. Augustine, Fla., and had been a resident of Camden County most all of his life. He was a graduate of Camden County High where he played football and also earned the superlative of “Most Original.” He was in the nuclear power business most of his adult life. He was an avid sportsman, and was very outgoing with a bubbly personality.
Mr. Harvey was of the Baptist faith, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his father, Harold E. Harvey of St. Marys; son, Erik Harvey of Baxley; brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Julie Harvey of St. Marys; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Harvey was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Mae Ferrell Harvey, and brother, Hal E. Harvey Jr.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, with Rev. Samuel Spradley officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.
The family received friends at noon, one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
