Harry Q. Long, 60, of Townsend, formerly of Macon, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. A memorial service will be held at 11AM Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Morgan's Chapel United Methodist Church in Townsend, with Rev. Grant Abernathy officiating.

Born August 11, 1955 in Macon, Georgia to the late Preston and Lou Ella W. Long, he was the owner and operator of Dental Works of Pine Harbor. Mr. Long was a 1973 Graduate of Windsor Academy in Macon, and also graduated from Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, FL, Institute of Oral Art and Design, as well as The Center for Advanced Dentistry. He was a former member of The Sertoma Club of Macon, Past President of Quail Unlimited for a number of years, Golfside Villas HOA President, and served on The Board of Directors of Coopers Point HOA.

Mr. Long had been a resident of Townsend for the past 5 years and was a member of Morgan's Chapel United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and cook. He enjoyed taking his beloved canine companion Hope on golf cart rides and spending time with his 5 grandsons. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Long.

Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years, Lynne S. Long of Townsend, a daughter Sherry Redford of Macon, stepchildren, Jessica Stone of Atlanta, Morgan Thomas (Austin) of Valdosta, Brooke Player (Randy) of Macon, and Matthew Stone of Atlanta, grandchildren, Cole Player, Gavin Redford, John Austin Thomas, Jackson Thomas, and Kellan Stone Robie, a brother, Alan Long (Carol) of Conyers, and nephews, Preston Long, Matthew Long, and Joseph Long.
