My Great Grandmother on my mother side.

She was married to John and had three sons; Preston, Jerome and Kenneth. She was the daughter of Layafette and Arminda (Fulton).

Memories from my mother about her grandmother:

Dora always had a big farmhouse to clean and since she never had a daughter, Preston(my mother's father) helped do the cleaning and cooking. She loved to bake pies, cookies, cakes, bread, noodles and dumplings.
Dora and her sisters were close. Dora liked to play cards and belong to many clubs.
Being a only grandchild and girl, for a long time, she said she got spoiled.
Dora and her would go shopping, visit family, friends or the neighbors when she come to visit. When she was a baby, she remembers Dora taking her for walks in the buggy by the St. Joe river to a park to watch the swans.
She remembered that Dora always used Lifebuoy soap.
Dora had a chest by the bed and that is where my mom used to sleep when she was little.
She got a Shirley Temple doll from Dora but, her mother wouldn't let her take it out of the box to play with it and to this day it is still in the box.
When Dora would come to visit her, my mom would take her to her bedroom and they would talk and play.
When she came home from high school, they had a phone call from the hospital that said Dora passed away. Dora was 72.
