Actor. The son of the late General Richard G. Stilwell Sr.(commander of United Nations forces in Korea and a deputy under secretary of the Department of Defense), he served as a United States Army officer from 1965 to 1985. He served two tours in Vietnam as a rifle company commander, earning a Silver Star and Purple Heart. After tours at West Point and in Korea, he retired in 1985 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. A native of Buffalo, New York, Stilwell turned to acting after his military service. His work includes the films, "The Pelican Brief" (1993), "Major League II" (1994), "Forrest Gump" (1994), "The Chamber" (1996), "The Joyriders" (1999), "Beneath Loch Ness" (2001), "Mimic 2" (2001), "Bug" (2002), and the television shows, "Homicide, Life On The Street", "The Wire", "The Practice", and "Gideon's Crossing." He was killed in a car accident in Los Angeles, California.
