Hazel Maxine was born on February 6,1926 in Muskogee,Oklahoma to Elman Shepard and Hattie Cornelia Bingham. She was their youngest daughter. When Maxine was 2 years old she developed a fever (more then likely it was scarlet fever) after afew days of being sick she came out of it but her poor little mind was never the same again. Maxine spent most of her life in Sonora State Home for Feeble minded. She was very loved by her family and was very looked after. Her family made sure that anything she would need was taken care of. Even after the death of her parents, arrangements were made to make sure that she would always be taken care of. Maxine passed away in 2007 in Redding,California of natural causes. She will be greatly missed.
