Willard E.H. Acker, 75, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015, in the Lehigh Valley Burn Center, Allentown. He was the son of the late William H. and Edna M. (Smedley) Acker.
Willard was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and retired from UPS Cartage. He loved to travel and spend time with his family and friends; and most of all, he adored his grandchildren. Those who knew him would say he had the gift of gab and will be missed deeply by many.
Surviving is his lovely wife of fifty five years, Joanna (Marsh) Acker; two daughters, Stephanie Acker of Mechanicsburg, and Marjorie Hilton and her husband Keith, of South Gardiner, Maine; a son, Brian and his wife Laura of Carlisle; Six grandchildren, Jessica, Zachary, Jacob, Katelyn, Eli, and Liam; Two sisters, Lori Texidor of York and Rayona Eaton of Mifflintown; and a brother, Luther "Zeke" Acker of Lewistown.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, August 22, 2015, in his church, 4681 E. Trindle Road, Mechanicsburg. Viewing will be from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm, Friday, August 21, 2015, in the Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market Street Camp Hill, and Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service in his church. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
