Cheryl Catherine Ussery George, 61 of Tuscumbia, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Her visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rod Stanskey and Bro. Bill Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Tuscumbia.
Ms. George was a native of Tuscumbia, a graduate of Colbert Heights High School and the University of North Alabama, and a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd D. George in 2001; her parents, Curtis Ussery Sr. and Clara Carter Ussery; and sisters, Beverly Faye Wells and Arminda Kaye Chapman “Kay”.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer George (Rob Campbell); brothers, Larry Ussery (Linda), Curtis Ussery, Jr. (Charlotte), and Smitty Ussery (Betty Sue); sisters, Bobbie Phares, Cindy Shivers (Mike), and Sandra Noe; grandchildren, Courtney Wilkinson (Stephen Howard), Destiny Grissom, and Mary Dunn; and beloved “Miss Piggy” (English Bulldog).
The pallbearers are Rob Campbell, Stephen Howard, Michael “Bubba” Shivers, Jessie Holmes, Justin Ergle, and Benny Dunn.
Honorary pallbearers are Jordan Ussery and the members of the Colbert Heights Volunteer Fire Department.
