Robert F. Handley, III age 70, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Waccamaw Community Hospital.
Born in Washington, DC, he was a beloved son of the late Ellen and Robert F. Handley, Jr. Mr. Handley was a retired Washington, DC firefighter with 27 years of service and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Edward "Eddie" Handley and a daughter, Holly (Dec., 1968-1998) from a former relationship.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Judith (Poole) of Myrtle Beach; sons, Sean Handley of Bowie, MD and Rob Handley (Erin) of Lewes, DE; Kevin Adams from a former relationship, daughters, Shannon Norris (Jeff) of Myrtle Beach and Erin Trichler (Matt) of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Sean Dylan, Morgan, Madison, Christopher, Andrew and Braxton; a brother, B.B. Handley (Charlotte) of The Villages, FL; sister in law, Brenda Handley of Mechanicsville, MD and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel with Father Ed Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
