Pat Schley (#38763160) states Jane Chapin Farr's birth name was Laura Jane Chapin but, by the time she reached adulthood, she appears to have dropped her first name entirely. Her brother, Aaron Lucius Chapin, the 1st president of Beloit College, addressed her as Jane before she was married to Mr. Farr.
