Wayne E. Anderson Ava, MO

Wayne Eugene Anderson, 78 years, 11 months, and 16 days old, passed peacefully to Heaven on August 18, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO with his family by his side.

Wayne was born September 2, 1936 in Cold Springs, MO to Ernest Jackson and Sarah Virginia (Trotter) Anderson.

Wayne was a life long resident of Douglas County. On May 26, 1956 Wayne and Jo Ann Souder were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union two daughters were born.

Wayne was retired from working at Emerson Electric in Ava for several years. Immediately after retirement he worked part time for seven years at the Ava Forestry Dept. In his earlier years he worked at Rawlings Sporting Goods, the Spauldings Plant and Marvin Barnes in Ava. During all this time Wayne also happily worked on his farm.

Wayne was a Christian and attended with Jo Ann at Sweden Church. One of Wayne's joys was playing his banjo and bluegrass music. He loved playing with his family and friends at benefits, events and church. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, keeping his place up, picking blackberries, mushrooms and eating “Ma’s” cookin. He especially loved watching his new baby calves. Wayne was the best storyteller and he loved to joke and tease.

Wayne adored his family and they did him! He and Jo Ann, “Papa Wayne” and “Granny Grunt” attended as many grandchildren events as possible. Every chance he and “Ma” would get they would spend the weekends with all the kids, grandkids and great grandkids playing games and music. Wayne and Jo Ann lovingly called each other “Pa” and “Ma”! His love for his family shined in his eyes!

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Brenda Anderson Dartt, five brothers, Howard, Bud, Robert, two infant brothers and one sister, Hazel.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Anderson, Ava, MO, a daughter and husband, Linda & Gene Clark, Ava, MO, seven grandchildren; Amber & Chris Mounts, Sarah & Brad Bethurem, Amy & Tyler Golden, Cassie & Brian Benna, Jorgie & J.R.
