GREENWOOD RITES SET FOR TODAY IN ALANREED

Funeral Services for Rev. Stephen Townsend GREENWOOD, 82, of Alanreed, brother of Mrs. J. Walker GREEN of Childress, were to be held at 2:00 p.m. today at the Alanreed Baptist Church. Officiant was to be Rev. Howard Jones, a Baptist minister and close friend of Rev. Greenwood.

Burial was to be in the Alanreed Cemetery.

Rev. Greenwood, a retired Baptist minister, died at 11:15 a.m. Saturday in the McLean hospital where he had been a patient for the past three weeks. He had been in ill health for about three years.

Among his pastorates were Wellington, Quail and Lilly in this vicinity. He and his wife, Harriet, owned and operated the Alanreed grocery and market at the time of his death. He was born September 14, 1886, in Caddo Mills.

Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Burnett of Wichita Falls and Asa of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. Dan STINSON of Winnebago, Illinois; three step-children, Ned CRAIG and Harvey CRAIG, of Lubbock and Mrs. Billie JAMES of Fort Worth; his sister, Mrs. GREEN of Childress; two brothers, W. C. GREENWOOD of Denison and C. E. GREENWOOD of Wichita Falls; several grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
