Frank S. Cooper, 96, a resident of the Royal Fontana Nursing Care Center, Urbana, and formerly of Gibson City, died at 6:20 a.m. yesterday at the center.
He was born Jan. 30, 1886, at Cheney's Grove Township, a son of Frank and Phebe Emery Cooper.
He married Clara E. Rick Aug. 8, 1913, at Gibson City. She died Oct. 3, 1980.
He is survived by two daughters, Clara Bidwell and Marilyn Spitz; three grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.
He was a 37-year member of the Gibson City Fire Department, a former employee of Carson Motor Gibson City, and former operator of the Rick and Cooper Garage in Gibson City.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Gibson City.
