Finis "Todd" Ware
Todd Ware lost his life fighting a fire in the Buckley Building in El Paso, Texas on August 14, 1910. Todd had joined the El Paso Fire Department on July 27, 1910. The fire was discovered at 2:15 AM in the three story building and burned until late in the afternoon. A falling wall at 9:45 AM killed fireman Ware and El Paso's Mayor and injured another fireman. Finis Taylor Ware became El Paso's first fireman to lose his life protecting the citizens and property of El Paso.
