Barbara A. Courter, 79, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Golden Living Center-Woodlands in Newburgh. She was born January 21, 1936, to the late Alfred, Sr. and Ruth Hall.

She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church where she served in the Altar Guild and Kitchen Band. She was a secretary at Ideal Milk Company, then became Staffing Coordinator at St. Mary's Medical Center for 17 years. Barbara was a member of the Jaycee Janes. She had a love for children, especially her grandchildren where they all called her "Granny." She and her husband, Carol, just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.

Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Courter; parents; brothers, Bobby and Alfred Hall, Jr.; and sister, Janie Huddleston.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harry Carol Courter; son, Terry Courter (Ann) of Napoleon, OH; daughter, Susan Stanfield (John) of Newburgh; grandchildren, Tanya Courter of Austin, TX, Amber Kingsley (Erik) of Reston, VA, John H. Stanfield of Newburgh, Joe Stanfield of Kuwait, Jake Stanfield of Chicago, Sherri Stanfield of Pittsburgh, PA; sister, Wanda Mosner (Dennis) of Evansville; brother, Clyde Hall (Vicky) of Newburgh; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, August 21, 2015, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 2300 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN, officiated by Rev. Terry M. Courter with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh. Friends may visit 4-8 PM on Thursday at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, Newburgh, and 10:00 AM until service time on Friday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church Youth Ministry, Golden Living Center – Woodlands in Newburgh, or Gentiva Hospice.
