Edward Thomas Johnson, of Wynnewood, passed away September 9, 2022 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years.

Edward was born March 8, 1942 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Henry and Bert (Butcher) Johnson.

He and Iliagene Juanita Ellett, (affectionately known as "Ollie"), were married in Davis, Oklahoma on November 29, 1960. He worked as a Truck Driver. The Wynnewood area has been his home all of his life.

Ed started as a hay hauler around the age of 18, at that time he became known as "Tadpole". His first job employment started at OTL, he worked for them for 22 years. After his time there, he went to work for TG&Y for 3 years, then went onto work for Self-Equipment hauling farm equipment, and lastly Specialty Transport in Wynnewood Ok. Where he then retired from trucking. Tadpole loved being around his kids, and grandkids. He had many friends and was well known around the Garvin County area. He spent most of his mornings down at Snack Shack drinking coffee with the "old geezers".

Some of his hobbies included going to Remington Park to watch and bet on the Horse races, gambling was one of his favorite things to do. Any time you would ask him to go play $20 he was in the car before you were, he never was a fast walker but he would get a pep in his step. He enjoyed cooking out, fishing, and camping. Anything he could to be around his family. His Grandkids were his pride and joy. But Tadpole his dog was the boss. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys and OU Sooners, football was his favorite sport to watch. Anytime he was watching TV it was either on Old Western Movies, or sports. John Wayne was his favorite cowboy. He was a man of many, many words and would talk your ear off if he had the chance. He never met a stranger. He was the best Daddy and Papa that you could ever ask for. He would give his last dollar to anyone who needed it. He will be truly missed by everyone, but we all have peace in knowing he is back in Ollie's arms again. What a wonderful birthday present he gave to her. Back where he wanted to be!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bert Johnson; his wife, of over 45 years, Iliagene J. "Ollie" Johnson; 4 children, Angie (Brown) Garrett, Stevie Johnson, Deana Anderson and Eddie Joe Johnson; 3 grandchildren, Caleb Forewood, Lisa and Lacy Forewood; as well as 2 sisters, Shirley Baker and Frances Rollans; as well as his 'dog child', Tadpole.

Funeral services will be held at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. We invite you to send a message of condolence and view the family's guestbook at the Guest Book link on this page.
