They were Laura, Ethel, Virgil, Patience, Bill, Edna, Harold and Ross. The one who did not survive was Thomas Allen. She grew up on a tobacco farm in the Outlaw's Bridge community in Duplin County, NC and graduated from B. F. Grady High School. She worked at Caswell Training School in Kinston for a while. She married Roland Fields, Jr. who lived near Seven Springs, NC. He was in the Army at the time. She was the loving mother of Glenn, Becky and Dwayne Fields.
The family lived on a tobacco farm near Seven Springs. She was always a farm wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In her later years, she enjoyed taking bus trips and going to the YMCA in Goldsboro, NC where she was a member of the senior citizens water aerobics group.
She was a member of Daly's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. On April 27, 2003, she lost her battle with esophogeal cancer and we lost our loving mother and grandmother forever.
