Zack J. Smith, 91, of 2916 Bentley Ave., Jamestown, N.Y., formerly of Hillcrest Drive, North East, died Sunday, March 12, 1995, at Manor Oak Nursing Home in Jamestown.

He was born in Waterford Sept. 13, 1903, son of the late Linden and Calista Boyd Smith. He was a resident of North East since 1940, moving to Jamestown in 1992.

While living in North East, he was a member of the Park United Methodist Church. He attended the Fluvanna Community Church in Jamestown for the past three years.

He was formerly employed at the General Electric Co. for 25 years, working in maintenance and as a crane operator. He retired in 1968.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Smith; and two
sisters, Nellie Sargent and Alice Shoemaker.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Nora Hopkins Smith; a son, Clyde A. Smith of Jamestown, N.Y.; a daughter, Audrey Hagy of Grayson, Ga.

Burial will be at Lowville Cemetery.
