Leslie Theodore Goodwin, 70, of Rising Sun, Ind., passed away at 3:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 13,, at his residence. Leslie was born in Whitley City, Ky., on Oct. 7, 1940, a son of the late Carrie (Jones) and Alonzo Goodwin. He was a graduate of McCreary County High School in Kentucky. He worked as a Boiler Operator at Occidental Chemical Company Cincinnati, Ohio, and was a member of the Steelworkers Union. On April 17, 1993, he married Francis (Clem ) Sheets Goodwin who survives him.
In addition to his loving wife Francis, Leslie is survived by a daughter, Anne Kailholz (Steve), of Bright, Ind; a stepdaughter, Patty Evans (Gary), of Rising Sun, Ind.; three stepsons, Doug Sheets (Sharon), of Rising Sun, Ind.; Chris Sheets (Tina), of Burlington, Ky.; Tony Sheets (Barb), of Cincinnati, Ohio; granddaughter, Heather Kailholz and grandson Michael Kailholz by 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 29 nieces and nephews
Leslie is also survived by five sisters, Joyce Eckstein, Shirley Stephens (Eger), Faye Hayes (Herman), Janice Waters (Carl), Pauline Coffey (Harley); three brothers, Carl Wright (Alice), Tom Goodwin (Brenda) and Donny Wayne Goodwin all of Kentucky.
Leslie was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Goodwin, a stepson, Michael Sheets, and his wife, Lori, two brothers Husten "Jap" Wright and Glen Goodin, a sister Georgia Helten
Funeral service at Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun, Ind., at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct 16, with the Rev. Jim Jenkins officiating. Friends are invited to call Saturday 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Markland Funeral Home.
Interment at Rising Sun New Cemetery Rising Sun, Ind. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
