Louise, 97, Rockford, died at 5:15 a.m., at Hearth and Home Assisted Living Facility.

She was the daughter of Alonzo and Lois (Swick) Gilliland. On Jul 21, 1940, she married James Tingley, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons: Larry (Suzanne), Williamsburg, VA, and Craig (Kimberly), Celina; a daughter, Marcia (Joe) Fetter, Southport, NC; four granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

Deceased are two brothers: Dale and Gale; and three sisters: Martha Curtis, Mary Klein and Margaret Harmon.

A hard working farm wife and homemaker, she was a longtime 4-H club advisor, member of Mercer County 4-H Committee, Mendon Riverside Farm Bureau Council, Van Wert Twig Group II, Van Wert Woman's Club and Van Wert YMCA Cuisine Board. She served her family and community. A true horticulturist, she took great pride in tending her flowers, vegetables, and fruit trees. She was well known for her budgeting and culinary skills.

A celebration of her life will be at First United Methodist Church, Van Wert, with Pastors Gus Christo-Baker and Paul W. Miller officiating.
