Born December 18, 1920 in Canton, Ohio and passed away August 6, 2015, age 94, at home in Sacramento, CA. He moved to Sacramento in 1959 and was a resident for 56 years. He was a graduate of McKinley High School, class of 39 in Canton, Ohio. He served in the USAF from January 1942 and retired in 1964 with the rank of Major. He was Flight Engineer/Aircraft Maintenance Officer. He was a member of the 320th BW, Mather AFB. He sold life insurance before working as a mail handler at the main post office for 17 years Since 1966 he was a dedicated and life member Lions Club International Within Lions, he was active with Central Lions, NCLSA and District 4-C5. He worked Bingo for several organizations like Society for the Blind and Easter Seals for over 30 years. Every year he went to Ohio for his high School reunion from the 50th to their last one, the 70th. He enjoyed visiting his family and friends every year when he went back, to Ohio.

Jesse was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years, Frances (O'Connor), who died 7/31/1980, his parents Daniel and Encarnacion (Lopez) Alvarez from Lugo, Spain and younger siblings Mary Toth, Fred Alvarez, Audrey Serban and Joseph Alvarez all from Canton. Ohio. He is survived by son, James Kent of Reno, NV, daughter, Ann Marie of Sacramento, CA and son Brian Lincoln of CA. He is also survived by two grandsons, nieces and nephews.

Services are Friday, August 21st at 2:30 pm at George L Klumpp, Chapel of Flowers, 2691 Riverside Blvd in Sacramento and reception after at Immaculate Conception Church 3263 First Ave. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton, Ohio.
