Ronnie Angus McDonald passed away on August 7, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. A life-long resident of Renton, he graduated from St. Anthony School, O'Dea High School and Seattle University. He served his country as a Marine Corps pilot during World War II and Korea. Ron retired from the Washington Employment Security Department. He was an active parishioner of St. Anthony Church and he worked tirelessly for Way Back Inn, assisting homeless families. He also spent many years volunteering for the Democratic Party and was dedicated to furthering the causes of peace and justice. A devoted and adored husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he will be missed greatly and is survived by his wife Roberta, their children Angus, Mary Ann, Elisabeth, John, and Andrew, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Evelyn Butts, Anne MacDonald, Mary Marantette, Patricia Elkan, brother Douglas and their families. Ron was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ronald and Anne, and his brothers Paul and Eugene. The family is most grateful for the loving care he received at Brian's House. A funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Renton on Monday, August 17 at 11:00 AM. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Greenwood Memorial Funeral Home.
