ANTHONY C. SABATINE
Anthony C. Sabatine, former Niagara Falls City Councilman and National Labor Leader, died Sunday (Aug. 30, 1987) at his home in Pinellas Park, Fla. He was 71.
Sabatine, who was born in Holley, moved to Niagara Falls in 1942 and became an electrician at the Carborundum Co. He helped establish the United Gas, Coke and Chemical Workers Union in the mid-1940s and was a leader in the merger of the union with the Oil Workers International Union to form the Oil Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union in 1955.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys (Costello) Sabatine; a daughter Patricia Muscarello of Gasport; and a grandson.
He was the father of the late Cheryl Sabatine.
